The beaches are clean and welcoming. Families arrive early to soak up the most of the summer sun and couples linger later to watch the sky fade from blue to orange. Margate has daytime activities beyond the beach, too, with Island Aqua Park on the bay serving up the largest floating water park around, and easy-to-access boat and kayak rentals at Scott’s Dock. The bay has its own majestic draw that’s viewed particularly well on a sunset boat cruise.
While Atlantic City is the place to be for nightclub nightlife, Margate offers up a slightly mellower scene. It is home to a smattering of informal eateries and top-notch restaurants, including Dino’s Subs & Pizza and Johnny's Cafe. At night, try Steve & Cookie’s for one of the best meals in town, no matter what you order. Down the block, Memories of Margate has reopened this summer, bringing a much-loved dance floor back to town.
